The Sligo, Leitrim Early Intervention Team for Children, delivers an interdisciplinary service to children with complex developmental needs in the 0-6 year age group. The Team aims to work in partnership with families/guardians on their journey through assessment, diagnosis and intervention, to enable each child to reach their potential.

The Early Intervention Service is community based, delivering therapy services to children under 6 years of age in a variety of settings depending on need, including centre based, family home, creche/preschool, school, respite etc

Referrals are accepted from Primary Care Services including GP, Public Health Nurse, Community Therapists and from other HSE Services and Tusla Services. Referrals are made using a standard Referral Form for the service and require signed parental/legal guardian consent Referral criteria is : Developmental Delay in two or more areas of development requiring a co-ordinated interdisciplinary team approach to assessment and intervention
