Lough Allen Adventure is an award-winning adventure centre offering Outdoor Recreation in Leitrim.
Our Activities include:
Gaisce Award Instructor Training FETAC/QQI Level 5 & 6 Summer Camps School & Youth Groups Wilderness Therapy Team Building Special Needs We provide FETAC/ QQI Level 5 and 6 training in Outdoor Recreation suitable for Post Leaving Cert Students and Early School Leavers. Lifetime Learning; School skills program in Kayaking; Windsurfing; Group Work; Wilderness Training; Skills Programs for adults; Survival Skills; Blueways; Slow Adventure; Education through outdoors.
This is a specific service provision to young people aged 16-23 years of age who are residing in Tusla, Child & Family Agency care-residential/foster care. An Aftercare Worker can be provided to the young person aged between 16-23 years of age to help facilitate their transition from in-care to aftercare. An Aftercare Plan will be completed with the young person and financial support may be provided towards their training/education beyond 18 years. Referrals are received from young persons assigned social worker. This is a voluntary service; young people must sign up to engagement in the service.
Sligo Comhairle na nÓg is a forum for structured input into decision-making by children and young people in the development of local services and policies in the county. Comhairle na nÓg is a way of seeking the views of children and young people to bring about positive change in youth related areas. Young people work on bringing the views of other young people to adult stakeholders and decision makers who can make the changes happen. Its about young people having a voice. It is a universal service with additional support given to seldom heard young people. Open to 12 – 18 year olds.
A Public Health and Community Nursing service provides a range of personal health and social care services to the community. Beginning at birth, the service provided to mothers and families of new babies includes information, advice on feeding, child development and immunisation in particular.
A school based immunisation programme, and a screening programme for vision and hearing is also offered.
Community nursing offers a clinical nursing service to those with acute or chronic illness, disability, and those with a terminal illness.
Youth Work Ireland North Connaught provides services to young people, parents and all those who work with young people across Sligo, Leitrim and Mayo. Young people can join the clubs to engage in social development at their own pace and learn many skills, personal and inter-personal. Programmes can be run and activities can be chosen by the young people and they are supported by the adult volunteers. Sligo Youth Information Centre is a project of Youth Work Ireland North Connaught. We provide information, support and advice service to young people, parents and all those who work with young people. The goal of the DSP Intreo service is to promote a caring society through ensuring access to income supports, employment supports and other services, enabling active participation in society, promoting social inclusion and supporting families.
